Minor League is composed of girls in grade 4th and 5th grade.

The teams in this league will play a total of 10 games against the other teams in the Norfolk County Softball League. Towns in the league are Westwood, Walpole, Foxborough, Sharon and Dedham 5 home and 5 away for a 10 game season.

The emphasis in the minor league is on the continuation of skill development through repetitions and practice, and the introduction of competitive play. However, prior experience is not necessary. Girls in this division will be evaluated for their skill level in March, and "drafted" onto balanced teams consisting of up to 15 players.  Teams in this division will have one group skills session per week, one team practice, and 2 games.

Group skills sessions will be designed to maximize repetitions of basic softball skills so that the girls develop proper and consistent technique.  The most up-to-date methods endorsed by USA Softball will be used for each drill.

In addition each team will hold its own practice once per week to teach situational and game skills.

Teams in this division will play 2 games per week that will be officiated by a USA Softball umpire or a high school player.  Games are played on Tuesdays, Thursday. Games will begin in early April and end in early June.  Standings will be kept, and playoffs will take place in mid-June culminating in a Championship game.

Fees for this league include a game jersey.  Cleats are required footwear in this league.  Girls must provide their own appropriately sized softball glove. Girls may choose to bring their own bat, but it must be an ASA-approved softball bat.  Girls wishing to play the infield positions MUST wear a face-shield.  Coaches will be provided with several team face shields, but purchasing your own properly fitted shield is highly recommended.
