The major league is made up of girls in grades 6, 7, and 8.
The emphasis in the major league is on the continuation of skill development and competitive play. However, prior experience is not necessary. Girls in this division will be evaluated for their skill level in March, and "drafted" onto balanced teams consisting of up to 15 players. Teams in this division will have 2 team practices per week, and at least 2 games. This league will play games with similarly balanced teams from Walpole, Westwood, Dedham, Foxborough and Sharon for the 2022 spring season as part of the Norfolk County Softball League.
Games will be officiated by an USA Softball-patched ump. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games will begin after April vacation and end in early June. Standings will be kept, and playoffs will take place in mid-June culminating in an interleague championship game.
Fees for this league include a game jersey. Cleats are required footwear in this league - no metal spikes. Girls must provide their own appropriately sized softball glove. Girls may choose to bring their own bat, but it must be an USAS-approved softball bat. Girls wishing to play the infield positions MUST wear a face-shield. Face shields will not be provided by the league in this division.
