CORI Information


Coaches and other volunteers for Norwood Youth Softball will be subject to a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 6, Sec. 172H which mandates organizations primarily engaged in providing activities or programs to children 18 years of age or less that accepts volunteers, to obtain all CORI regarding volunteers prior to accepting any person as a volunteer.  Coaches and volunteers must provide certain personal information to Norwood Youth Softball and such personal information provided will be used to conduct a CORI background check by requesting all available criminal offender record information (CORI) for the individual.  Designated persons of NYS will subsequently receive and review such background information.  These designated persons will only share such background information amongst themselves for the purpose of determining if any individual should be disallowed from serving as an NYS coach or volunteer.
